Do you love to sew? You probably know that countless other people share your passion, but did you know that there are even several famous people who love to sew? Numerous stars are reportedly de-stressing by sitting in front of a sewing machine. Some are also creating crafts and fashions. Often you read about famous stars collaborating with a fashion designer to create a line of clothing under their name or a particular label. However, actress Rachel Bilson not only teamed up with DKNY Jeans to create a new sportswear line called Edie Rose; she also learned to sew. She felt it was important to know more about the whole process of making clothes.
Back in June 2001, InStyle Magazine reported that Nicole Kidman really loves to sew. This famous actress has been sewing for her children so they could have appropriate clothing. InStyle also reported about another famous actress, Elizabeth Hurley, sewing her own clothes. She even made her sister's wedding dress. Then, there are musicians such as Chris Martin and Pete Wentz who also enjoy sewing. Chris will have a sewing kit listed in the amenities of his contract. Then, if he feels inspired or wants to hem his pants, he can do it himself.
Rebecca Herbst, star of TV-soap General Hospital, is another celebrity who loves sewing. She also hopes that someday people will be wearing her designer clothes. Sewing is not a new thing to Herbst. She had been watching her mother sewing up her costumes for ice skating competitions and she would use the scraps to sew clothes for her dolls. Sewing came naturally to her even as a youngster. Now she makes her own special-occasion gowns and dresses.
